Jaspers schreef na de bestseller De stikstoffuik het boek De klimaatoptimist. Daarin legt hij uit dat we geen reden hebben om in paniek te raken over klimaatverandering.

Nieuwe EU-richtlijn maakt ‘klimaatzaak van de eeuw’ overbodig
De EU heeft onlangs de CS3D aangenomen. Deze richtlijn verplicht bedrijven een ‘klimaattransitieplan’ aan te nemen en uit te voeren dat voorziet in zodanige emissiereductie dat de doelstelling van niet meer dan 1,5 graden temperatuurstijging en ‘klimaatneutraliteit’ wordt gehaald. Daarmee is de ‘klimaatzaak van de eeuw’ van Milieudefensie tegen Shell die hangende is voor het Gerechtshof Den Haag overbodig geworden. Sterker nog, met de CS3D is er voor de Nederlandse rechter geen ruimte meer om op kop te lopen in het klimaat zonder het Europese recht te schenden. De EU heeft de Nederlandse rechter links gepasseerd.

Regenrecords worden weer verbroken. Maar is dat wel zo of is hier weer duidelijk sprake van gegoochel met cijfers. Rob de Vos duikt in de cijfers en komt met een heel ander verhaal.

Bij overstromende rivieren wordt altijd weer de kaart van klimaatverandering getrokken. Rob de Vos maakt weer eens duidelijk dat dit totaal uit de lucht gegrepen is.
