Jaspers schreef na de bestseller De stikstoffuik het boek De klimaatoptimist. Daarin legt hij uit dat we geen reden hebben om in paniek te raken over klimaatverandering.

‘Hernieuwbare energie’ is niet hernieuwbaar
Terwijl politici en media oproepen om de energietransitie te versnellen vanwege de huidige energiecrisis en geopolitieke spanningen, plaatst Roger Pielke Jr. kanttekeningen bij het dominante verhaal over ‘hernieuwbare energie’. De basis van wind-, zonne-energie en batterijen is namelijk fossiele brandstoffen. Volgens Pielke blijven deze technologieën sterk afhankelijk van fossiele energie en zware industrie — een inzicht dat van belang is voor het debat over realistisch energiebeleid.
